Exclusive!
Negotiations are now under way with a UK publisher to
adapt Robert's PhD project on Exclusive Films and the early history of
Hammer for book form. The book will include much of the material
uncovered during the PhD research and promises something new for Hammer
fans.
Robert's PhD at Trinity College Dublin is currently self-funded - anyone
interested in sponsoring the PhD should get in touch.
Northern Irish
Cinema
Robert has been commissioned to
co-write a chapter with Chris Legge on Northern Irish cinema for a
forthcoming encyclopaedia of British film. Robert and Chris will also be
supplying a number of reviews of associated films. Full details in due
course.
The book will be published late 2010/2011.
Horror Unlimited
Robert has agreed to serve as
editor-in-chief for this new subscription-based online horror magazine,
launching August 2010. He will also be writing a regular column for the
magazine, entitled 'Fresh Blood and Crumpets'.
The Hammer Xperience
Robert is editing veteran actress & author
Ingrid Pitt's memoir of her time with Hammer Films for mainstream publication.
Robert is also authoring some contextual chapters to be included in the
text.
The book is
due for publication in 2011. Further details to be announced.
A Plague of
Zombies...
Short article looking at Hammer's
handling of zombies in The Plague of the Zombies.
Originally commissioned, but unused, by one of the UK's genre mags in
2008, Robert is now publishing the piece elsewhere.
